Are you considering teeth straightening? Here at Teeth and Smiles we have a wide range of teeth straightening available so are sure to have the right solution to meet your needs.
In this month’s blog the team at Teeth and Smiles look at the advantages of undergoing our most popular teeth straightening treatment, Invisalign.
Comfortable
Metal braces are uncomfortable for most wearers. The brackets are raised and cause rubbing, scrapes, or even sores on the insides of the cheeks of lips. Or the wires can come loose and poke or cut the inside of the mouth. Invisalign has no brackets, wires, or other metal pieces. They are made of a clear, smooth plastic and are lightweight and comfortable.
Invisible
Invisalign aligners move teeth into their proper position gradually and gently – without the unsightly brackets and wires that come with conventional dental braces. Invisalign appliances are made from medical-grade polyurethane resin that is virtually invisible. This means that no one needs to know you are wearing them unless you tell them.
Zero food restrictions
One of our patients’ favourite components of Invisalign is the fact that they can enjoy all the same foods they love. Unlike traditional braces and most other orthodontic treatments which have strict dietary restrictions, Invisalign allows you to eat and drink without having to fear breaking a bracket or damaging your appliance. Simply remove the aligners before you eat and pop them back in when you are finished.
Less appointments
With traditional braces you need to attend for regular appointments to have the wires tightened. With Invisalign you will only need to attend for appointments every 6-8 weeks, ensuring that your teeth straightening treatment does not have a major impact on your work or leisure time.
Improved oral hygiene.
Traditional braces can be difficult to maintain and can increase the risk of developing gum disease and tooth decay. When using Invisalign, it is easy to remove the aligner trays to clean them. They can then be gently brushed with toothpaste and warm water before they are reinserted. This also means that you can follow your normal oral hygiene routine, brushing and using interdental cleaning aids.
Invisalign provides a great option for those looking to straighten their teeth. If you have any questions or would like more information on how Invisalign and teeth straightening can improve the appearance of your smile , call Teeth and Smiles on 020 7352 7049.
